Once again this year your local AFCEA Chapter was honored by AFCEA International with the award of the Harry C. Ingles Award as best small chapter in the Association. We also received the Model Chapter award again this year. Congratulations and well done to all whose dedication and service to the local community helped bring these awards to Central Florida again!
Planning for TechNet 2009 is underway. If you are interested in supporting this outstanding local C4I symposium, please contact programs@afcea-orlando.org.
Our leadership team is hard at work on this year's agenda. Initiatives for this year include continued growth of our education and Young AFCEAN programs. As always, we have some excellent opportunities to serve your local community through AFCEA - please contact Roger Smith or any of our leadership team if you are interested in joining a good group, doing good works.
Chapter efforts to support education in the Sciences and Engineering have completed for this school year. Our scholarship program, science fair awards, and support of the Florida Science Olympiad are all aimed at influencing young students to pursue careers in C4ISR-related fields. Please contact Mike Agor of JHT if you'd like to help out with any of these rewarding activities!
